On September 15, doctors discovered a lump on Mike's thigh. We thought it was something surgery could take care of. However, on October 11 we got the crushing news that its cancer. Mike has been diagnosed with stage 4 myxiod liposarcoma which has spread to his lungs and spine.  This is an extremely rare form of cancer.  Nothing can possibly prepare you for this news. What's making it more stressful is the costly medical expenses. At this time Mike is unable to walk and in tremendous pain.  The Mayo Clinic is working so hard to keep him comfortable with the goal of getting him home to his family.  Mike is such a loving, caring, genuine  person. He has been an amazing partner to Kathleen, and an awesome dad to his 2 kids, Nora, 8 and MJ, 1.  He has remained strong and optimistic for his family.  Please rally around Mike and his loved ones during this difficult time. He means the world to so many and we know he can beat this.
