First Photography Show in Spain

This story is about the friendship of 2 artists spanning 2 continents and almost 3 decades. Ana and I met during high school in Durango, Colorado when she was a foreign exchange student from Madrid, Spain. It was that time in your life when you feel like you will know everyone you meet for the rest of your life. In this case it was true. Ana and I clicked. I thought she was so sweet and beautiful and am happy to call her my friend. I painted a tiny bead for Ana when she returned to Spain and she gave me a blue glass talisman. We mailed letters and visited each other when we could and even though there is an ocean between us we have always remained friends.





We both made our ways in the creative fields. Myself as a Photographer/Archivist  and Ana as an Artist, Art Historian, Curator and Interior Designer. I am always amazed by how many things Ana has accomplished and she has always been one of the biggest supporters of my Art over the years.

This summer Ana asked if I would be interested in being the artist for a curating contest that she wanted to enter. I said yes and was blown away when she said the gallery hosting the contest was in Santiago de Compostela, Spain. For months I had been reading and thinking about The Camino, which is an ancient pilgrammage through Spain that still happens today and ends at the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela. Talk about Divine Intervention!

Ana had faith that we would win this contest and we were 1 of the 3 collaborations chosen! My solo show will begin March-April 2016 with Ana curating my photography.

We will have over 50 pieces of photography including a movie installation. We are now in the process of raising funds to help pay for the printing and framing of the art as well as travel costs. Ana and I plan to start printing this January. 

This show is life changing and an honor. I would love to be able to present my work in a way that shows its beauty to its fullest and highlights Ana's talent as my curator.
