Sewer Repair At Disabled Woman's Home

Donation protected
HI! I am Toni M. Vincent from Lyons, Rice County, Kansas. I am a forty-seven years old woman with a severed form of Cerebral Palsy known as Spastic Quadriplegic, which I have had my entire life. ~ Because of the severity of my Cerebral Palsy, my dear mother was my primary companion and caregiver until her passing ten years ago. I was in a nursing home for eight months after Mother's passing. But with the hard work of friends, people I didn't even know, and my own, we were able to locate and get me on a state funded program which allowed me to moved out of the nursing home and into my own home with a staff of care assistants which are with me twenty-four hours to help me with EVERY basic daily need of life. ~ Although the state does pay for my staff to care for me, I must live and support myself just as everyone does. Only in my case, because of my disability, I am unable to hold down a job and live on the limited income of Social Security Disability. Even though it is hard some months, I am able to pay my monthly bills and support myself on what I receive monthly from Social Security, but there is never any money to cover any unforeseen home repairs one may have if they own home, which brings me to the reason for posting this with GoFundME.

Several months ago, I started having problems with sewerage backing up into the toilet, sinks, and the shower in my home. I have had several plumbing companies come and tried to snake the sewer pipe which runs from my house to the street. I have spent over $500.00, which friends had to loan me some of, just in doing this. And, at the end of each time a plumber would come and snake it, I would get the same answer: "Your pipe must be collapsed, because we can't reach the end of the pipe to clean it out." Or "Your sewer pipe is collapsed because our snake comes out of the pipe and start pulling back dirt." "And, you just need to replace your sewer pipe," I have been told by the different plumbing companies I have talked to, that it could run up to $3000.00 to replace it. Something I just can't afford by myself on my limited income. ~ I have found a plumbing company that says they can do it for much less which is wonderful. But since I am would be a new costumer of theirs, they require payment when their first job is completed. ~ What this company would like to do FIRST is, to dig down to the sewer pipe and place an outside clean-out on the outside of my house where they can start running their snake closer to where we think the problem is instead of all the way from under my house, to make sure they are reaching the end of my sewer pipe and/or locate where the pipe has collapsed and need repair or replace. The only problem with this is that I have just been told, for them to JUST do this may cost close to $500.00. It won't be a problem if they would take payments. But as I have said, they don't accept payments for the first job they do for a new costumer, which brings me to trying to raise the money anyway I can.

My staff and I have dealt with this problem for months now. The toilet can only be flush two or three times and day, and even then it usually has to be plunged for it to clear. The kitchen and bathroom's sinks as well as the shower will back up with sewerage, if we are not careful and run too much water at one time. And when this happen, my staff has to work to get it to go back down whichever drain the sewerage has back up into at the time. ~ Although it has been going for months, I know this is not a good and clean way to live and something has to be done. Even though I am being care for in the way I need to be here at home, by taking a few showers here and taking longer ones at friends, I know there is always a chance that I can be taking out of my home by the state and won't be allow to return until the sewer is fixed and working correctly. And too many people as well as myself have work way too hard to keep me in my home and living independently, for me to let this happen without trying everything I can think of to come up with the money to fix the sewer pipe so I can remain here in the home I love.

I am setting a goal of $2500.00 to raises in hopes that this will help fix/replace my sewer pipe. Each and Every penny I can raise this way will ONLY go toward the cost of fixing/replacing my sewer pipe so that I can remain in my home.

In advance, thank you to each and every one of you who see this and find it in your heart to reach in your pocket and donate, no matter how small or how great, to my cause to raise the funds to repair my sewer pipe so that I may continue to live in my home. ~ May all of you receive many blessings in return.
