James served in the US Army Judge Advocate General's Corps for eight years where he obtained the rank of Major. James serves on the faculty of the National Criminal Defense College and is a nationally recognized lecturer in the areas of evidence and trial skills. James taught as full time faculty for four years at the Florida A&M University College of Law. James has spent the past several years representing indigent defendants in federal court. During his legal career James has served as both a prosecutor and defense attorney. James also serves on the faculty of the Public Defender Prosecutor Training Program. His experience as a military officer, law professor, and trial attorney make him uniquely suited to serve as a county court judge.
