The Loni Namanga Football Tournament

Donation protected
On the 8th of August 2017, Our dear son and friend Loni Namanga was brutally stabbed to death following a night out with some friends in London. His tragic and untimely death sent shock waves through out our community and has left a huge void in our lives. Loni was only 19 years old. He was gifted, kindhearted, loving, funny charismatic, intelligent and highly motivated. He had a massive impact on us and touched the lives of many people. He was much loved and respected and is dearly missed.

The Loni Namanga Bridge Trust is a charity that has been set up in remembrance of Loni. As a charity we are here to help the community in particular vulnerable youngsters. Essentially we aim to keep the young people off the streets and steer them away from violent crime and gangs. We will engage them in meaningful recreational activities such as football, rugby and many more. We will also incorporate educational activities aswell. This will help them to create a more positive atmosphere and hence better community cohesion.

Ultimately we will improve the young people’s self esteem mental physical emotional and educational well being. This will help them to make the right choices in life leading to positive outcomes. Our aim also is to provide advice, support and guidance to disadvantaged and/or vulnerable children/ young people aged 8-30, targeting those living in the Greater London area.

Loni was passionate about sports in particular football, so we thought it would be appropriate to launch our first fundraising event on this subject. We are organising a football tournament in memory of our dear son and friend Loni.

This is our first major fundraising activity and we are appealing to you the public for your support. Our target is £5000. Every donation counts, no amount is too small as every as every little helps. The money raised will be used to pay for the hiring of premises, pitches, equipment, coaching fees and refreshments. We aim to set up a youth club, initially operating at weekends and holiday periods. Building up as we become more established.

This event will take place at Streatham Vale 3G pitch on the 17/10/2021, from 2pm-6pm. Refreshments will be provided. You are invited to join us and participate in this event.

Thank you very much in advance for your support.
