Running for Peace and Dignity

Donation protected
Each time Peace & Dignity Journey passes, the prayers conducted on the run are focused on a particular energy or spirit.
Beginning in 1992, the first Peace & Dignity prayer was for the elders who had passed and left their knowledge.  The prayer in 1996 was for our children, as they are the future.
In 2000 the prayer  had a particular focus on the family. Family values and participation were encouraged and importance of family was stressed throughout the run.
2004 was for the Women, and their struggle. Mothers and grandmothers and those whom give life to our very existence were honored.
The prayer for 2008 was focused on the sacred sites throughout the Americas. Without these sacred sites preserved, Indigenous people stress that a healthy ecosystem on earth will make it difficult for human beings to exist on earth.
The prayer in 2012 was dedicated to the water, due to the contamination of what was our first medicine and the healing powers that it holds.

In 2016 the prayer is for the seeds, as they are being destroyed. To pray for the wellness of the foods we eat.

The funding that we recieve will be used to purchase vehicles to transport the runners, as well as gas, repairs, medical care/supplies, radio equipment, tools, final gathering/ceremony in Panama and for emergency funds as well..

Our goal is to meet our deadline of March 30, 2016 in order to aquire the vehicles needed and other supplies prior to the commencement  of the run.

The importance of the prayer is universal. We are praying for the well being of not just our continent, but that of our entire Mother Earth.
