Urgent need -- small family help!

Dear St. Matthew friend,
At this time of the year, many families are collecting a tag from a giving tree to give to strangers. Unfortunately, a small family that you and I know at St. Matthew has fallen on hard times and they could use our help. We are writing to ask you to fill-a-need for people in our immediate community who you may see around your children's school, at church, on the sports court/field, grocery store or around San Mateo.
Out of privacy for this family, we are making our emergency plea confidential. We do not make this request lightly. This family needs temporary assistance to get through the holidays and get back on their feet.
In this season when so many of us are counting our blessings, we ask you to consider making room in your budget by providing money to help pay the bills or gift cards for food, groceries, gas, living essentials, Christmas gifts, rent or activities for the kids over the Christmas break, etc.
We think one of the reasons many of us are at St. Matthews is for the community. This is our opportunity to give support and encouragement to our St. Matthew friends who are in need so they can live with less anxiety.
We appreciate anything you can give!
