Support Caralyn in Teaching ESL in Peru

Dear Friends and Family,
I have very recently been offered a job teaching English for six months at the San Francisco Language School in Chachapoyas, Peru. It has been a dream for me for years, since earning my certificate to teach ESL in 2009. Chachapoyas is a small city in a remote area in Amazonas, in the north of Peru. Just for me to get there, I will need to take a bus from Lima that will take 24 hours to arrive at my destination. The position will pay enough to support me to pay rent and get by in that city, but not much more. I was asked if I can be there next month, which is when their classes begin.
While this is VERY short notice, I believe that I can make my dream happen. I currently work two jobs and am doing what I can to be able to be in Peru to teach next month (hopefully, without having to sell my car). The only thing I am letting hold me back right now is money, and I am prepared to do everything in my power to overcome that. I am nervous to go alone, and a lot of worries come up. I have decided that those fears do not serve my vision. I created this donation link so that I may be able to live in my vision and your support will help me do that safely and securely.
Why I want to go:
In July 2009, I had the very fortunate opportunity to go to Peru through Rutgers University. My life was changed in that month. I witnessed another way of life and people who smile despite what we would perceive as a lack of material things. I developed relationships with children who didn't have the care that I did as a child. I connected with life in its purest form. There is a great deal that I stand to learn from Peru. Yes, I will be teaching English,which I believe can greatly assist people to enrich their lives by being able to connect with the rest of the world through a language. But really, why I want to go is to take what I learn and to bring it to all that I do. I will set up a blog that will document a life that others might not have known through words and photography. My vision in my life is to connect people through any means, and that people understand the extent of love's creation.
