Lucas's Top Surgery

Hello! My name is Lucas, and I am a queer, transgender man. I am (training to be) a certified nursing assistant, and my ultimate plan is to go to medical school after I finish my undergrad. The surgeon I am looking to go to is out of state and out of network, and to cover all costs it would be about $5,000. I really would like to focus on saving up for medical school and being able to buy small things like a nice coffee without feeling guilty about it, and without having to put saving up for an expense like medical school on hold for my surgery. I also don't want to work myself to death all summer, while studying for the MCAT (an 8 hour long exam for medical school), to save up for a life-altering surgery. I want to be able to live my life for once. I have been disabled since 5th grade, with CIDP and chronic Lyme disease, and now that I am finally feeling like I can exercise again because of my treatments, I can't do it because it's simply too dangerous for me to exercise in a binder. I want to be free again and just live a normal life, playing sports for my school and focusing on my studies. Anything helps, I'll be working all summer and will have the opportunity to save up, I'd just like to take this immense stressor off of me so that I can actually focus on my future. Everything I am able to get from this GoFundMe will be going straight towards my surgery costs, my hotel cost (I'll have to stay there for 7-10 days after the surgery), and my plane ticket cost to get there.
