Building Houses in Pujili, Ecuador

Donation protected

Hi everyone!

This August I'll be going to Pujili, Ecuador with an organization that you may be familiar with--Help Learn Discover, and whats great about this organization is the oppourtunity it offered me and many other university students. HLD coordinates volunteer projects and hospital rotations (shadowing doctors) in Ecuador for those students interested in the medical field. These volunteer projects include building homes for underpriviledged families in Ecuador.

This year our goal is to build 22 houses, which each house costing about $5600 and to achieve this goal, I , along with all other participants are fundraising to make this happen. Want to get involved too? Every single penny you donate to me or any participating student will go directly to the purchase of the materials to build the homes, that's right, 100% of all the money we raise individually goes towards helping the less priviledged families!

If you would like to learn more about HLD or this program please check out: www.ecuaexperience.com

How I am fundraising for my goal:
-Buy a Brick: Everyone is welcome to "buy a brick" for the building of the homes. In other words, you can make donations to buy a brick and I will send you a message with a photo of the home (with your brick) that you made a contribution for. These donations can be made in person or through Go Fund Me.

-Tutor Sessions: I will be tutoring students from elementary to high school level in subjects such as math, English, physics and chemistry. All earnings goes towards building homes

-Bottle Drive: I will be collecting bottles/cans from family members, friends and possibly neighboring schools and community centers.

I will also be reaching out to schools within the area for their support and participation in certain fundraising events. These include

-"Kilometer of Coins": Everyone brings in coins and we will put them side by side until the long chain of coins reaches 1Km in length
-"Guessing Jar": There will be a jar of candies, and to make a guess as to how many candies are in the jar, you must first make a donation (donation jar placed next to the candy jar). The winner with the closest guess to the actual amount of candies wins the jar of candies (and possibly a gift card if I can find a sponsor)

If you have any other ideas for fundraising that you think I should try out, please let me know!

Please help me reach my goal of $1000, your support would be greatly appreciated and will go a long way towards contributing to the lives of those less fortunate.

Thank you!
