Veterans Retreat

Hi. My name is Darren, but commonly known as Badger.

I run Noon Cregg CIC Veterans Retreat. And as a veteran myself know the need of such a place.

After being given a lifetime tenancy on the land. Iv been recently been given my marching orders. This is due to an unforeseen change in circumstances. The change in ownership, after the passing of my business partner JK.

Noon Cregg CIC Veterans Retreat was stated in the memory of JK’S late father. ‘Major Rolland Kelly of Bomber command,’ A World War Two Veteran. Who settled in west Cornwall after the war.

All veterans face difficulties after serving their country, and it’s not only the veterans that suffer but their families to. The readjustment back into mainstream life isn’t an easy process by any standards. So having such a retreat here in west Cornwall is a major resource, as there are over 35.000 veterans in Cornwall alone. Major Kelly ran a premier camping and caravan site in Kerris. known as Bowling green farm. JK wanted to do the same here, but I suggested a site with a difference, based around veterans of all service backgrounds. JK and his sister, new only to well the difficulties their farther endured after returning home from the war.

After I came out the Army. I found that being outside in nature very beneficial, and leant the art of Stone walling, amongst others skills.

So now I teach stone work and other skills to Veterans. I offer a safe site for Veterans and blue light services who suffer from PTSD, and other mental health issues.

All who have stayed here have certainly benefited from their time here, and left in a better peace of mind.

I now need to find a new plot of land to relocate Noon Cregg CIC Veterans Retreat to. Noon Cregg is the only retreat of its kind in west Cornwall and if we loose it, we would be loosing and valuable resource for our Veterans, and their families.

The land we will purchase with the funds raised. Will be in the name of Noon Cregg CIC. So that there will always be a safe place for Veterans and their families to enjoy. Learn new skills, and crafts. Enjoy these stunning surroundings with like minded folk.
