Water Authority of Fiji Terminated Workers appeal

Please donate to help families of Water Authority of Fiji employees (all donations in US$).
On May 1st, 2019, an estimated 2,900 Water Authority of Fiji employees had their jobs terminated.
Thousands of WAF employees’ futures hang in the balance because they thought that a Government Statutory Authority would be decent enough to provide them with the means to feed their families and put a roof over their head in exchange for an honest day's labor.
Most of these workers have worked in the company for more than 10 years and the "collective agreement" , which is the supreme recognized contract signed by WAF and FTUC, states the definition of a permanent worker as "working for more than 12 months."
All this talk about "projects", "short term contracts" and "reapplying for positions" are just a smokescreen from the real issue and that is, WAF being an irresponsible employer and not honoring its agreement with the FTUC.
We are appealing to the public to help us get these workers their jobs back as they await their case to be heard by the employment tribunal in enforcing the collective agreement.
Any contributions towards alleviating the suffering of these families will be greatly appreciated.
