Grow THE GARDEN

The philosopher, Epicurus, posed that all one needs to enjoy life is lively conversations with dear friends in a beautiful garden, the gathering space for these discords was thus named The Garden. Arielle Renee’s "The Garden" is on a similar mission.

ABOUT: The Garden

Why GIVE N O W ?!?!

The Garden is a not-for-profit, transcendent space, featuring rotating art and gatherings to inspire. It opened to the public in May 2022. It is located in the EDO neighborhood of Albuquerque. Arielle Renee is the featured artist and prover of the space. The Garden has hosted the works of several other artists including street artist Alex Enzo and jello-artist Erin Coleman. This space has a reputation for events that showcase the skills of community leaders, teachers, chefs, and musicians. Jello- Art destruction FUN-
The Garden has already seen tremendous success in its first year of programming and we would like to continue on that upward trajectory.
Over the course of the next year, we would like to host more open-call group shows and invite new local and out-of-state artists into the space for solo visual installations. Each art show would yield at least two highly curated tuned art parties, with musicians, chefs, performers, and craftspeople, all working with the visual artists.
Education workshop for each show, and the continuation of figure drawing sessions in the space. All of which would be open to the public. The Garden brings a level of holistic creative community outreach and thoughtfulness beyond other art collectives in New Mexico.

The Garden is a work of art in itself as it adheres to a creative manifesto of reciprocity and supports the genius of art without capitalism or commerce but with community engagement. Previously, a personally funded endeavor, these funds will make it possible to continue to up-level and expand the artistic talents that are brought into the space.
GROWTH:
The Garden has already experienced an amazing community turnout for our events. Due to the range of events featured at The Garden, we have seen a diverse variety of participation. Some events, ie the Open Call- “Fool vs Devil” show in October appealed to a younger crowd of tattoo artists, whereas the “Overripe” paintings of deer and rotting fruit coincided with a five-course dinner which appealed to a mature audience. We aspire to continue to cultivate this range and diversity. Our goal is to have so much interest in our events that spaces need to be reserved in advance. Success is the quality of engagement, with guests visibly moved, curious, and comfortable enough to ask questions and extend the dialogue with compliments and recommendations. This is our impact on the community -if guests feel inspired to engage with art and leave with a memory of awe then The Garden has succeeded.
THANK YOU-
Testimonials:
"I came to The Garden as a model for the figure drawing sessions, which have been a wonderful experience. I have also had the opportunity to participate as a contributing artist and as a joyful patron to many of the unique events hosted in this space. Arielle is not only an incredible artist but a tireless community builder with a unique vision for this space and a wealth of opportunities to offer. I look forward to watching her vision blossom and grow with the support of the vibrant Albuquerque arts community." -Michelle Dillon
