7th Annual Holiday Toy Drive

As November comes to a close, the holidays are right around the corner. Over the Thanksgiving holiday we had an opportunity to reflect on many things. One of the things we are most thankful for is all of the wonderful family, friends and colleagues that make our annual toy drive such a success.
With that it’s time for our 7th Annual Holiday Toy Drive for underprivileged children in Jersey City. This will be our 5th year partnering with the Boys and Girls Clubs of Hudson County (BGCHC) to provide toys to hundreds of children in need. We are so excited to continue our work with the great folks at BGCHC again who make such a positive impact on our communities.
Each year we have made this event bigger and better. We need your help to continue the growth so we can benefit more and more children each year. Here are the funds raised by year:
2015 - $950
2016 - $1,900 (+100%)
2017 - $3,100 (+63%)
2018 - $4,426 (+42%)
2019 - $6,050 (+36%)
2020 - $7,828 (+29%) + Toy donations from the Melissa and Doug Toy Company

This year we’re aiming to raise $8,000 and we’ll be leveraging GoFundMe to help us streamline and track the drive. From the start, it’s been critically important to us that every dollar raised goes 100% to the children we’re raising money for. GoFundMe charges 2.9% + $0.30 per donation which Johanna and I will match (up to $1,000) to again ensure every dollar goes towards the cause. Regardless of where we end up, we will be making a huge impact in the lives of many children this holiday season.
As you all know, we rarely solicit donations for anything but believe that this is a truly worthy cause. The Boys and Girls Clubs of Hudson County will order all of the presents on their corporate account again this year which means the purchases will be sales tax free. As in previous years, any donor can request a copy of the receipts at the conclusion of the drive to ensure everything is well accounted for.
Lastly, we need your help in getting the word out. With such a large goal we need to continue to expand our circle of donors. Please take a few minutes to forward this to your friends, family and coworkers. Together we can make an incredible impact this holiday season.
