Mississippi School Service Project

Tess Neill, Olivia Lederman and Emma Miller, are planning a community service trip for this April Break. We will be going to Oxford Mississippi to work at Quitman County Elementary School, doing whatever needs to be done; painting, planting and hopefully also playing with the children. This school is one of many in MS that is part of the Barksdale Reading Institute (www.msreads.org) which was started about 11 years ago by some good friends of Katie's (Tess' Mom). This program is working diligently to ensure that these children are able to read fluently by the 3rd grade. We are raising money to cover travel, lodging and food expenses for five people.
