In 2014 I had open heart surgery at the Freeman hospital in Newcastle, I was on ward 23 at the start of December, I received some gifts for Christmas and a advent calendar, this was very heart warming. Every year since I fundraiser so I can go into the heart unit 23 and deliver presents too all the poorly children who unfortunately can’t make it home for Christmas time, I also have managed to update the playroom and buy portable DVD players for the patience’s who are on intensive care, last year was very difficult with the covid restrictions and I couldn’t go onto the ward but I still managed to drop off 25 Christmas bags full of gifts, Christmas balloons, personalised teddy bears and Christmas bedding for all the beds on the ward.
I’m hoping this year I can get onto the ward to deliver the present aswell as get a Santa and some characters in to make it extra special.
