Help My Family Find A New Home

After over 2 years of fighting a legal battle, and making multiple repairs on a house that was falling apart, my family has wrongfully lost their home. I am creating this GoFundMe account to help them get on their feet for when they have to officially leave and hopefully pay off their lawyer’s fees which alone have accumulated to $17,000.

My family lives in San Jose, California where house prices have gone up in the last couple of years with the median price being $1,000,000 USD - I wish this was an exaggeration. As my dad is disabled and can’t work, my mom has been the main provider for about 15 years. However working in the food service industry makes it almost impossible for a low income family to live in The Bay Area. My mom is only 5 years away from retirement with full medical benefits. Since moving over from the Philippines, she has been working for over 30 years every day leaving the house each morning at around 5:30am. To see her work this hard, sacrifice all that she has, and not receive the full care she deserves would be incredibly devastating.

We didn’t have much growing up but my parents have always found a way to provide for us and have always offered a home to those who desperately needed one. While our lives weren’t perfect, my parents did everything they could to make sure we had a roof over our heads and that we had something to eat. My mom and I used to talk about our dream homes and while she has never achieved that dream I believe that we can help them find a place where they can finally feel like their home is theirs; away from unnecessary drama and a chaotic environment.

If they had something to give, they would help any way they could. They have never given up and fought for what they believe to be right and this is my way of helping them.

The money that is raised will go towards their legals fees and finding a new place for them to live.
