My story begins 10 years ago when I was diagnosed with PolyCystic Ovarion Syndrome. I was heartbroken at the thought that my chances of becoming pregnant on my own were slim to none. Over the following years, I spent my time loving my nephews and niece and all of my friends children. Baby shower after baby shower, birthday party after birthday party, I smiled and laughed but deep down inside I was broken at the thought that it was not happening to me.
Everyone kept telling me that it was in God's hands and that it would happen when it was meant to be. This is a true statement and one that I firmly believe. I have faith in God. Unfortunately, it was not happening.
Almost 3 years ago, I fell in love with my soul mate and best friend. I thought to myself, maybe this is what God was waiting for to happen in my life. Was this God's path for me? Was he waiting for me to meet the love of my life? Unfortunately, it was still not happening.
Finally 2 years ago, a friend led me to a fertility specialist. Test after test, procedure after procedure, drug after drug, hormone after hormone...still nothing is happening.
I am 36 years old and my chances are dwindling as each day passes. My next step is IVF (invitro fertilization). I was told back in December that my insurance company would cover that procedure up to $10,000 a calendar year. I was overjoyed that I could eliminate the financial stress of this situation and focus on hoping for it to work. Going into officially start the process this month and I find out that my insurance DOES NOT cover it. It was like a wave of sadness overtook me. I have come so close to making my dream come true to have it ripped away because of money.
This is where my plea comes in. I have created this page to get help from friends, family and possibly kind hearted strangers that can understand what I am going through. I understand that I am not fighting a life threatening illness but to me, this is my life. I have dreamt of being a mother for so many years and cannot imagine a life without that. So I am asking for help. Through this page you can securely make a donation to my cause. All of the donations will transfer into a special account for this procedure. I have to have the funds by the end of April before it actually happens. I understand that we are not all wealthy, but any little bit helps.
