Helping Children in Venezuela
Beschermde donatie
WHY ARE WE DOING THIS?
Daniela and I have been donating to two different organizations in Venezuela that help children. The small amount we contribute helps with food, clothes, medicine and basic supplies.
We decided to do something different this Christmas and use the money that we would've spent on gifts for each other and donate it to these children. I asked Daniela what kind of toys we should buy them. After calling her mother (a volunteer for these two organizations) and asking what gifts would be best for Christmas, her mother's response was food and medicine is most needed.
Let that sink in for a minute.....
Not toys, games, electronics, etc. - Food and medicine!
This impacted me deeply and made me realize how little I am doing to help. This is the moment I thought "we can do much more with a little help from friends and family".
HOW WILL THIS MONEY BE USED:
- 100% (outside of go fund me fees) of the funds will be divided equally to:
Fundación Manada pequeña and Comedor Infantil Padre Miguel
- We will be sending boxes of what is most needed (food, medicine, clothes, basic necessities, etc. ) along with Christmas gifts for approximately 120 children.
- Supplies will be purchased here in the US by Daniela and mailed to these two organizations.
- We will update with pictures and videos of supplies and gifts along with the children receiving them.
HOW SOON DO YOU NEED THE MONEY?
- We need it now. After purchasing the supplies and mailing the boxes it will take 30-40 days to get to these children. Our goal is to have this funded no later than November 7th 2020
FAQ:
Q: Approximately how many kids do these two organizations help?
A: 120+
Q: What will you be buying with this money?
A: We will purchase what is requested by the organization and what supplies they need most. We will be adding small gifts for the children so they have something to open on Christmas.
Q: How can you guarantee that the supplies will get to them?
A. Daniela found a company here in FL that specializes in getting shipments to Venezuela. She has been sending supply boxes to family in Venezuela every two months successfully now for over 2-years.

FACTS ABOUT VENEZUELA
Children are among the most vulnerable in this crisis. As food stocks dwindle, children are at greater risk of hunger and death.
- Over 9.4 million Venezuelans are moderately to severely malnourished – one-third of the population.
- According to the United Nations, 11 million Venezuelans have been forcibly displaced.
- More than 5 million Venezuelans have fled the country.
- Over 90 percent of families report not being able to buy enough food, and Venezuelans lost an average of 24 pounds in 2018.
We are so busy during Christmas rushing around spending lots of money on "stuff". We forget sometimes how fortunate we are and lose sight of the true meaning of Christmas. I hope you will help us raise money and shine a little light for these kids in Venezuela.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
