Infertility Treatment

My name is Brandi. My husband, Martin and I met in 2001 and fell in love. We were engaged in 2004 and were married in 2007. We knew we wanted a family, but at the time, I was still in college and our dream consisted of a home for our children and great careers to which we had not yet achieved. In 2010, I had surgery to remove a cyst from my right ovary. The surgery was successful but the doctors  discovered that my left Fallopian tube was full of fluid, so in the best interest of myself and any future pregnancies, it had to be removed. Unfortunately, the right ovary never regained function leaving us unable to conceive naturally. After several doctor visits and fertility drugs, it was determined that our only option was IVF, In virtro Fertilization.  The cost of one treatment is $10,000 plus $3,000 for the cost of medications. In 2013, we bought our first home. A home to start our family in.  As for our careers, Martin is successful Deli manager at HEB, a local grocery store. I work a a Case Manager and Sexual Assault Advocate for the Advocacy Center for Crime Victims and Children providing counseling and community resources for victims of crime.
Our next dream: a family. We are almost there and with each dollar, we are that much closer to having the family we have always dreamed of.
To family and friends who are learning of this for the first time, we apologize, it's not something you shout from the roof tops.
