Fair Oaks Science Olympiad's Trip to DC!
Donation protected
We are thrilled to offer this year's fifth grade Science Olympiad Team from Fair Oaks Elementary the opportunity to travel to Washington, D.C. at the end of this school year and are looking for financial support to make this trip possible. Fair Oaks is a high-poverty school, and the students on our Science Olympiad team come from low-income families who cannot afford the cost of this trip. In order to make this trip possible for our students, we are asking for your support.
Our students face numerous barriers to academic achievement, including low socioeconomic status, lack of English spoken in the home, and the expectation to care for younger siblings and assume other adult responsibilities. In spite of these challenges, our students are hardworking and resilient, and they possess unique strengths and tremendous potential to succeed. In the five years since its founding, the Fair Oaks Science Olympiad team has earned 13 medals and more than 30 ribbons from county and state competitions. More than 90% of our students achieve grade level proficiency each year, distinguishing Fair Oaks as a Georgia Reward High Progress school. Our students' hard work and success has helped to make our school a nationally recognized 2013 Blue Ribbon School.
Each trip costs $500. Any donation will make a great difference to our students
