Ralph's Recovery Fund
Spende geschützt
In May of 2020, after more than a year and a half of persistent jaw pain and increasing difficulty opening his mouth with no apparent cause, Ralph was finally diagnosed with throat cancer. This diagnosis thrust him into the medical system at a time when the world itself was struggling with a new Covid-induced reality. Faced with a heavy pain management regime and the prospect of simultaneous radiation and chemotherapy, Ralph's life was turned upside down almost overnight. Ralph understood only too well the toll that these treatments would have on his body and immune system as his daughter Carlie had just completed her own treatments for breast cancer just one year before.
Understanding that his immunocompromised state would put him at higher risk for unfavorable outcomes if exposed to the Covid virus, not to mention the possibility of bringing that disease into the oncology patient population, Ralph made the difficult but necessary decision to stop work and focus on his treatments. As a self-employed carpenter and general contractor who makes a living by dealing with strangers on a day to day basis, Ralph quickly realized that the work he loved and depended on had suddenly become a threat to his life.
Ralph is lucky enough to have a wide circle of friends and family who are supporting him through this difficult time. The love and support he has been shown since the start of this ordeal have been a huge source of inspiration and motivation for Ralph. Thankfully Ralph's medical prognosis is good. He is seeing improvements in both his pain levels and ability to open his mouth and the doctors have told him they are now unable to feel his tumor which shows his treatments are working.
Thankfully his treatments are now coming to a, hopefully, successful end. With many months of recovery ahead of him, however, his financial recovery is anything but certain. It is unlikely that he will be returning to work any time soon and he will need our support to help him through the challenging times ahead. We ask that you show your love and support by donating to Ralph's recovery fund.
This fund has been set up by Carlie and Matt Huntley in support of Ralph Einarson. All funds donated will go directly to Ralph to support him in his recovery.
