For María Angélica

With profound sadness and heavy hearts, we announce that our mom, Maria Angelica Flores, age 57, has lost her long and painful battle with diabetes and blood clot disorder. She suffered cardiac arrest and was put on life support to see if she could recover. Her medical team recently told us that she no longer has brain functions and will not be waking up. We want to honor her wishes, as painful and heartbreaking as this is.

She is leaving us too soon, but in our sadness, we rejoice because she will no longer be suffering or in pain. Instead, she will be embracing the Lord Almighty in Heaven, waiting on us to one day arrive.

Our mom was a hardworking woman. A strong warrior; a fighter. Always giving and helping even if she was struggling or tired. The most memorable thing about her was her big smile. Even in pain or sadness, she always smiled and never gave up. She fought long and hard. This disease took so much from her, but it never took her smile. We will miss her deeply. She will forever live in our hearts.
