Jenise Coon Memorial Scholarship

When I think of Jenise Coon, I think of her contagious laugh, bold lipstick, and the inspiration she left among so many. I was given the opportunity to get to know her as my band teacher at CK Price and continued to watch her change lives at Chico High School. Her husband Brady said, “Life is hard for the delicate things of the world. The beautiful things. The sweet things. The fragile things. And there just wasn’t anything as beautiful and sweet and delicate as Jenise. And we loved her and we will never be the same.”
I've had the honor of receiving approval to start a Jenise Coon Memorial Scholarship through the Orland Community Scholarship Association. It has been established and will begin being awarded in 2022. This will be something I will personally donate to annually; however, if anyone is interested in donating, checks can be made out to Orland Community Scholarship Association with a note for Jenise Coon Memorial and sent to P.O Box 1084, Orland CA 95963. Although Jenise’s loss is still beyond devastating, my hope is to honor her and keep her memory alive. To simply know Jenise meant to be touched by her and I hope to help her continue to touch lives even in her absence.
100% of raised funds will be deposited into the account that will help fund Jenise Coon Memorial Scholarship. These funds will be distributed to graduating seniors to help them pursue their dreams, as Jenise would have encouraged them to do.
