Kristy-Lynn's Battle

Please help Kristy-Lynn and her family with the outrageous costs of spending weeks on end in the hospital hours away from their home while she undergoes several major brain operations.

Kristy-Lynn is a beautiful, courageous,talented, and smart young lady who has unfortunately been through a living hell throughout the last years.

4 years ago Kristy-Lynn experienced her first grand-mal seizure. It took many tests, emergency room and hospital visits to figure out what was going on, and found in Kristy-Lynns brain was a large hemorrhage pressing into her brain causing frequent and severe grand-mal seizures aswell as frequent and severe migraines.





This is where Kristy-Lynn and her family's hardships begin. Due to the frequency in which Kristy-Lynn was experiencing grand-mal seizures, she was forced to drop out of school and begin homeschooling herself, lose her license and lose the money she had spent on driver's training, she is unable to hold a job.

Since the discovery of her brain mass, she has been prescribed many different medications on a trail base period. Most of these causing her harmful side effects including anorexia and another daily nausea. All of these Anti-Convulsants are very harmul for your liver and can cause liver failure. Currently she is on Clobazam, Crbamaepine, Pregabalin, Divalproex, Nadolol, Lorazepam, Sertaline, Folic Acid, and Omega Plus. She is now taking over 100 pills a week.

As an effect from her almost daily seizures, she has developed severe depression and the seizures are now affecting her memory. However throughout all these trials and suffering, Kristy-Lynn has remained a fighter, truly courageous. 

Now, Kristy-Lynn is currently in and out of the Toronto West Hospital, being held at the The Epilepsy Monitoring Unit. For the past month she has been in the hospital undergoing multiple brain surgeries. For the entire month that she was held there, she was able to see her mother a total of 4 times. Due to the costs of accommodation, travel costs, food costs, and being unable to take time off work, Kristy-Lynn's mom is not able to be with her daughter as her daughter undergoes brain surgery. No body should have to be alone without loved ones during extreme surgery. Her next surgery is her most major surgery yet- the attempt to remove her mass from her brain. This surgery will cause her to spend many weeks in the hospital for recovery and not to mention the months of medication she will need recovering. Hopefully with our help, Kristy-Lynn will not have to face this alone, and will be able to have her family by her side.
