“I urgently need help. I am an Angel Mom, a traumatic brain injury and domestic violence survivor. My storage units are in auction, and I have already sold everything I possibly could—what remains are personal, irreplaceable belongings. I am asking for immediate help with housing, vehicle repairs, and medical expenses. Any support or prayers right now would mean more than words and could help me hold on and rebuild.”
My name is Carol, and at 58 years old I never imagined I would be sick, alone, and asking strangers for help. But I am in an immediate crisis and truly have nowhere else to turn. For 17 years, I was the full-time mother, nurse, and caregiver to my special-needs son. He was born with only the right side of his heart and fought his entire life with incredible courage. He endured four open-heart surgeries, a pacemaker, a St. Jude heart valve, and countless medical procedures. He was a Make-A-Wish child and one of the bravest souls I have ever known. When children’s hospitals could no longer help him, Georgia gave us hope—and because of that, I was blessed with nine more precious years with my son before he passed away at just 17 years old. When he died, my world collapsed. After my son’s passing, my husband abandoned me, filed for divorce, and left me in Georgia with no family, no support system, and no safety net. I lost my home, my insurance, and eventually everything I owned. I kept fighting, but grief and serious medical issues have taken a devastating toll. Today, I am medically unable to work and in the process of applying for disability. I recently lost my job due to frequent medical appointments. My truck is broken down. I am behind on rent for the small room I’m staying in and at risk of losing it. Before this room, I was sleeping in my car. My storage unit is in immediate danger of being auctioned. Inside are all of my personal belongings—photos, documents, memories, and keepsakes that can never be replaced. Most heartbreakingly, my late son’s belongings are also there. They are all I have left of him. I do have two other children, but they are grown and facing serious financial hardships of their own. They are unable to help me, which makes this even harder to ask. I am also facing serious medical crises. I have already undergone one surgery and have two more coming up: • Kidney cancer (renal cell carcinoma) with surgery scheduled for February 10, 2026 • A large hiatal hernia causing my stomach to push into my chest, making eating dangerous—even pureed food causes choking • A history of traumatic brain injury requiring brain surgery, leaving me with seizures and worsening neurological issues Despite everything, I am still here—and I believe God is not finished with me yet. How Your Help Will Be Used I am asking for help to: • Secure safe, stable housing • Pay urgent storage fees to save irreplaceable belongings • Prevent my possessions—especially my son’s memories—from being auctioned • Cover basic living expenses, transportation, and medical-related needs • Stabilize while waiting for disability approval If I can get through this immediate crisis, I believe I can survive again. I make jewelry and hope to rebuild a small business once I have access to my supplies and a place to live. Every donation—no matter the size—moves me one step closer to safety. If you cannot donate, please share this fundraiser. Your kindness, prayers, and compassion mean more than words can express. Thank you for taking the time to read my story and for helping me during the hardest chapter of my life. May God bless you. With gratitude, Carol
