Book Project for Porntip

The Executive Director of the Thai-US Educational Foundation (TUSEF), Khun Porntip Kanjananiyot, will be retiring effective September 1, 2014. During her tenure (2003-2014), she oversaw the work of countless Fulbrighters to Thailand from the United States as well as Fulbrighters to the United States from Thailand. As the face of the Fulbright program in Thailand, she performed her work with enormous professionalism, dedication, and pride. She was a mentor, advisor and dear friend to those of us who were priviledged to be Fulbrigthers. 

Khun P'Tip exemplified the Fulbright philosophy of promoting cross-cultural understanding. She always tried to bring these issues to the forefront in her work and her daily interactions with others. As a way of honoring Khun P'Tip, a book is being produced that will include cross-cultural stories by Fulbright Thailand's former grantees and alumni (both US and Thai). Each story in the book will be translated into both Thai and English. The books will be distributed to host schools of English Teaching Assistants (ETAs), Fulbright Thailand's network of institutions and universities, the US Department of State and Thai Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Thai and US Grantees (past, present, and future), as well as contributors and other interested persons and institutions. A copy of the book will be presented to Khun P'Tip at the time of her retirement. 

We are soliciting funds for this project in order to cover the editing, production, and distrbution costs of the book. Please help us to honor Khun P'Tip in this very special way.
