Venezuela needs our help!

As many of you know, Venezuelan students have been protesting against the government during the past couple of weeks. They have been rallying against the high level of violent crimes (25,000 last year in a country of about 30 million people), the lack of basic necessities (such as milk, sugar, toilet paper), and an extremely high inflation rate (at 56% it is the highest in the world). These protestors have been met with a violent response from the government and the police. There are graphic images of the police beating and humiliating the protesters. Many have been arrested for exercising their right to free speech. While in custody, the protesters have been subject to unspeakable acts of violence including rape and vicious beatings. Some have even died. The Venezuelan people need our help. I have started this fundraiser because there is an orgainzation in Miami which has been successful in getting supplies to the protesters (such as food, water, bandages, medicine, etc.) I am BEGGING my friends and family to help me meet this goal (or to even surpass it!). As Americans, we tend to take for granted the basic rights and freedoms which are afforded to us every day. All the Venezuelan people want is to have the same rights and enjoy the same freedoms as us. Please HELP ME to HELP THEM!! Thank you!!!
