Supporting Sarah

Sarah Mosley: Joy personified. Her radiant smile, her infectious laugh, her magnetic charisma, her generous spirit, a compassionate confidante, a warm, welcoming soul. The phrase "To know her is to love her" has never been more applicable to anyone else. With tender kindness, creative genius, and steady guidance she has shaped the lives of hundreds of 2 and 3-year-old children over the years; every family is forever grateful if their child is fortunate enough to be in Sarah's class. She is a gift to all of us who are lucky enough to know her.

Though I don't want to believe that this is really happening, Sarah needs our help and support right now. At the end of April Sarah's doctors identified masses on her ovaries. She underwent surgery on Friday, May 12, and it was determined that the masses were ovarian cancer. As Sarah and her family are processing her diagnosis privately, there aren't any further details to share. She is still in the hospital, supported by her husband, Michael, her children, Stella and Van, and her sister from Ohio. She will be out of work for an unforeseen amount of time, and raising money to help support her family and fund her medical expenses seemed like the obvious thing to do during this time. Alleviating some of their financial burdens will enable her family to focus on surrounding her with the love and care that she has spent decades doling out to others.
