A few weeks ago (March 2019) Melissa Fuller was diagnosed with cervical cancer.  On  March 29, Melissa will have further tests: an MRI and CT scans to see if the cancer has spread.  Based on these results, she will have surgery (hysterectomy) or if it has spread, "radiation" first and than surgery.   Melissa will also be tested for brca1 and 2 genes (breast cancer genes) as it is highly linked to ovarian cancer and will help the oncologist decide  whether or not to keep or surgically remove her ovaries based on her risk.  Some of the testing will not be covered by OHIP and will  cost even more, due to the urgency.
Melissa and her partner Dan and their two children ( 3 and 1 years old) live in Gravalbourg Saskatchewan .  
She works full time as a nurse and Dan works for a farm.  Melissa will be off work for some time due to her illness.  Her partner will be spending a lot of time with the children and supporting Melissa.   One way we can help support them is by minimizing their  financial burden through raising money to help them through the next year.
