The Pattaya Orphanage takes care of approximately 160 orphans, ranging from newborn to studying at university level; these children need pretty much everything and I am here to help them!
I have also started this fund-raising in honour of my late grandfather, Emilio from Milan, who was an orphan too.
I have been in constant contact with Ms. Siriphen Limsirikul for the last three weeks; Ms Limsirikul is the Assistant Director of International Relations for the Pattaya Orphanage and she has been of great assistance with the schedule of my visit and donations.
It is important to ensure that donors of this campaign understand how their donations will be handled and which 2 projects they will support:
1. Emergency fund for medical care of 122 orphans: Even though children in the home are entitled to free medication at state hospitals, every now and then kids need to be taken, especially the little ones, to private clinics for specific and more urgent exams/treatments. There is no a doctor at the Orphanage, only a registered nurse, and it has been overwhelming with the daily care of 63 kids, aged between one day and 36 months, in the nursery.
2. Older kids’ education: It’s a big investment they make for the children’s futures. Each year, they require approx. two million Thai Baht (approx. 56,190 Euro/ 48,335 Pounds) for children’s educational expenses. Any amount to benefit this need is always greatly appreciated.
