Those who wish to help are encouraged to stop by Lafayette High School on Friday, February 21, 2013.
The donated proceeds will be deposited at the Whitney Bank in the Bayou Vista branch in the name of the "Cheatham - Escort" benefit account.
Lafayette High students will be observing a "Remembrance Day" for the Cheatham- Escort families that were involved in Saturday's car-bus crash involving the Lafayette High Baseball Team, at 11:41 am. , the time of the accident.
In addition, all employees and students, as well as members of the community, are being asked to make a donation of at least one dollar ($1.00).
According to Principal Patrick Leonard, "with the large amount of support that Lafayette High School has received from the community, we must also remember that this tragedy affected many families and friends of all involved in this crash. Lafayette High School would like everyone of the Lafayette Parish community to join us in helping to defray some of the costs involved in recovery of the Cheatam-Escort families."
All donations can be brought to Lafayette High School anytime Friday and Monday. All checks should be made out to the "Cheatham-Escort' benefit fund. If you can't make it to the school, please consider donating through this Gofundme account.
