This is about making submissions to the 2014 Rabbit Heart Poetry Film Festival free, sister!
Presented by Doublebunny Press and based out of Worcester, MA, this festival is going to be a game-changer! This film festival is about bringing together poetry and the visual arts at the intersection of film. Anyone can make a video of a poet reading a poem, but that's not what Rabbit Heart is looking for. What we're looking for is what you can do visually with a poem, without showing performance.
Presented by Doublebunny Press and based out of Worcester, MA, this festival is going to be a game-changer! This film festival is about bringing together poetry and the visual arts at the intersection of film. Anyone can make a video of a poet reading a poem, but that's not what Rabbit Heart is looking for. What we're looking for is what you can do visually with a poem, without showing performance. And because this is the first year for the festival, we would like to make it super accessible, by making it free for filmmakers and poets to submit their work. Right now, we're planning to make the festival happen by a combination of personal funds and submissions fees - BUT! If we can raise a little more than the prize money, then we'll be able to waive the submissions fee. Which means that anyone can submit their work - even folks living and creating art on a budget.
As part of our committment to the community, we also want to give tickts for the awards night event to people in Worcester who wouldn't be able to afford a night out. So when you donate to the festival, you'll not only be pitching in to make submissions free, but also to make some of the seats at the awards ceremony free.
