After our conversation with CEO Kelly Silla, we felt inspired by this story and passionate about launching a campaign to support these individuals.

J.H. is an individual who longed for a family before finding one at Fretzpark, a community that creates meaningful friendships by hosting weekly social gatherings and monthly activities. J.H. is now part of a one-of-a-kind family while building memorable friendships at events such as the annual Christmas party and group social outings. He even gets the chance to experience free adventures (thanks to donations) outside of Fretzpark like drive-through wilderness excursions in the Arbuckle Mountains and day-long trips to Frontier City Amusement Park.

Many intellectually disabled individuals suffer from the lack of a support system and a community in which they feel a sense of belonging. Your donation will help community members like J.H. to have a strong support system at all times. All donations are put back into the program and help fund events and daily care for the service recipients and their families. They even use donations to purchase Christmas gifts for the Fretzepark recipients. These services allow the residents to feel a sense of normalcy and belonging.

Fretzpark Homes is an assisted living facility in Oklahoma City that provides a sense of family and community to developmentally disabled residents and members of the community. The Fretzpark mission statement is “Fretzpark Homes is dedicated to providing superior, quality, residential service to people with developmental disabilities and their families.” In attempting to achieve their goal, they offer a variety of opportunities for the individuals to exercise their right as a productive citizen both in the home and community. These opportunities will include measurable training in daily living skills, an assortment of community involvement, creative activating within the home, and the chance to give back to the same community that gives to them.
