"Seniors in the Sun" Accessible Garden

The Village of Hillside is a subsidized independent seniors living facility of approximately 40 residents.  One of the biggest obstacles to healthy senior living is social isolation.  We would like to offer our seniors an opportunity to get outdoors with their fellow residents, experience the satisfaction of gardening and then share a community meal with the bounty at the end of the season.
We are partnering with Eagle Scout Tyler Hitner, from the Boyne Scouts troop.  Tyler has taken the construction of the garden on as his Eagle project!  You can assist him in the fundraising part of this project by making a contribution.
The Harbor Springs Library is also working with our project by helping us save seeds that can be "checked out" by families and children to grow their own gardens...so we are helping to "pay it forward"!
The requested amount will allow us to construct 4 elevated beds of 3'x10' with soil, and a gated fence to avoid building a conveniently located deer buffet.
