Champions Fighting Cancer

**Update - Due to Juan's trip to Boston for proton beam therapy, we are postponing the tournament until we can find a date that will accomidate him (and ensure he is in town for the tournament) and for everyone else involved with planning and set up. 

To help Juan and his family while he is in Boston, we will also use some of these donations to benefit Juan during his 10 weeks away from home.  He will need medications, food, and other living expenses while in Boston.

Champions Fighting Cancer is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu tournament benefiting Juan Alvarado who has a rare form of brain cancer (Chordoma).  Juan is married to his beautiful wife Courtney and is the father of 2 gorgeous girls.  Juan was diagnosed last year on his birthday while working as a Flight Nurse/Paramedic for AeroCare.  Juan has had 3 surgeries so far and still has a long road ahead of him to beat this cancer. 

Along with the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu tournament, we would like to establish the Juan in a Million foundation.  One in every 1 million people are diagnosed with Chordoma every year.  Juan in a million is obviously a pun but intended to honor Juan and his fight with cancer.  This foundation will help those who are battling cancer is two capacities.  Those suffering from Chordoma and also first responders who are fighting cancer (Police, Fire, EMS).
