Heather is a dedicated wife, mother and scientist. As a Clinical Laboratory Scientist, she has devoted her career to serving others. In a matter of days, Heather went from working in a stem cell lab, to needing a stem cell transplant. One day she was responsible for testing blood products, a few days later she would be receiving them.
In July 2019, Heather was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. She will have an extended stay at UFHealth while she undergoes treatment including chemotherapy and a bone marrow transplant. Medical bills can put an necessary burden and stress on the patient and family in an already troubling time.
