Rest In Peace Baby Thomas

Scotty and Tanya are a beautiful, loving couple who are expecting their second baby boy. Tanya is about 30 weeks along in their pregnancy journey. After struggling with secondary infertility for 4 years and suffering a loss, they are so excited to welcome baby Thomas in July and Sully is very happy to be a big brother.

 

They say that a baby born after a loss is the rainbow after a storm. Unfortunately for their little rainbow, the storm is still brewing. Baby Thomas has been diagnosed with a rare birth defect called Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia, 1p36 Deletion Syndrome, and a heart defect.

 

Their immediate future will look like lots of appointments with doctors at Phoenix Children’s Hospital which is 4 hours away; so it’s a lot of time, gas, medical bills and stress on their family and jobs they need to go back and forth to. After Thomas is born, he is looking at several surgeries within the first few weeks of life and will most likely be in the NICU for months. There is a high mortality rate and more questions than answers. We’re still hoping for a miracle but ultimately we have to focus on what will give him the best quality of life.

 

Scotty and Tanya greatly appreciate those that have reached out and prayed for them.

 

Absolutely anything helps at this point. We are starting this in hopes of making the financial burden a little lighter as they navigate these unforeseen circumstances.
