We Love You Carla!

One of our fellow athletes and long-time gym members, Carla, was injured in a freak accident earlier this week, sustaining several fractures to some of the bones in her face and orbit (the bones that surround the eyes) and injuring some muscles in her neck. This kind of accident easily could have left her paralyzed or worse, so we are all thankful that her injuries aren't worse than they are. Unfortunately, like so many others today, Carla is self-employed and uninsured. The nature of her injuries has required her to be in the hospital for some time and she has had to have x-rays, MRI's and other special tests. There is a lot of swelling behind one of her eyes still and that is being monitored on an ongoing basis. It will require surgery, that she recently underwent. We all know how quickly medical bills add up and her extended family here at the gym is raising money to help Carla and her family out so she can get back on her feet as quickly as possible.
