Volunteering in India
In less than a week, I'm going to India to volunteer for a month in a hospital in Kolkata (Calcutta), a school in Delhi, and an ashram in Varanasi. My goal is to raise funds and supply these projects in anyway I can depending on the level of support I receive.
I've volunteered at a school in Kenya a few years back and regularly spend time here in Los Angeles at children's hospitals/schools doing arts enrichment and also serve as a camp counselor for kids with heart disease. This trip would be to share my time, effort and whatever you decide to graciously donate to these very deserving places that offer service to those who need it most.
Here are the links to the places I've chosen to serve so you can get a sense of how much they could use your support. I'll buy a bulk of the supplies needed for each place in India. For the school, I'll donate paper, pens/pencils, chalk, etc. The hospital will receive first aid, medical supplies, etc. The ashram, which services an orphanage will get clothes, toys, food, and some money that they can spend as they see fit.
