Feed Our Future

Jane Addams Elementary School is located near McKinley Ave. and State Route 99. Over 92% of their student population qualifies for the Free or Reduced Meal program. They currently have 50 children who are residing in the motels located along State Route 99. For many of these students, the breakfast and lunch that they receive at school are the only meals they will have each day. Hunger does not take the weekend off. My goal is to raise funds that will be used to provide a bag filled with easy to prepare, ready-to-eat foods every Friday to 70 students that are determined to be food insecure. Backpacks will include foods such as granola bars, tuna, macaroni and cheese, juice boxes, and fruit. Better test scores, improved reading skills, positive behavior, improved health and increased attendance have all been attributed to the success of these programs.

A donation of $45 will feed one child each weekend for the remainder of the school year.
