the puma family fund

just before christmas 2013 kathy puma was diagnosed with cancer. she had it for two years without being detected. it started in her lungs and spread to her spine, brain, and bones. she is currently home with her family on hospice care. kathy had been working as an lpn and had dreams of becoming an rn. she and her husband, carl, figured out how they could support their family while giving kathy time to further her education. in july 2013 she started working part time and began to focus on her studies. shortly after they began working toward their goals carl was unexpectedly let go from his job and they were given the terrible news that kathy had cancer. kathy is the mother to five children; michael 27, nichole 19, laurdes 13, adam 9, and nina who just turned 6. when given the news the children wanted kathy to try any treatment possible. she had radiation treatment but was too weak to continue with chemotherapy. she wants to spend her time feeling as well as she can and enjoy it with her family. words can't describe the strength kathy has during this time. she has such a positive attitude about all she and her family are going through. she knows that in her passing their strength and closeness will help them get through such a hardship. her faith in god and the acceptance of her fate seems to comfort the family, especially the children. they have the chance to ask questions and understand what is going on. i made this page to start a fund for kathy's family. with carl working part time and no longer having kathy's income, their savings is depleting quickly. this fund will go directly to the puma family to help with medical bills, funeral expenses, and living expenses. it is so unfortunate this amazing family has to go through this. no donation is to small to ease their financial burden. thank you everyone!
