Health Education in Cambodia!!!!!

I have been a member of GlobeMed, a national student run organization, for two years. This organization works with grassroots organizations in all corners of the world to reduce health disparities. Through my participation, I have been accepted to an internship program in Phnom Penh, Cambodia this summer. While in Phnom Penh, I will be working with a grassroots organization, Cooperation for Social Services and Development!

CSSD works directly with marginalized communities within Phnom Penh and helps members of these stigmatized communities gain access to healthcare. Because of their occupations, social interactions or lifestyle choices, these individuals can be denied the healthcare that they deserve. Thus, CSSD works to improve the health, provide health education and increase the access to healthcare of individuals within these vulnerable populations.

While in Cambodia, other members of GlobeMed at Rutgers and I will be working on health education programs, survey analysis, grant writing and language instruction. Specifically, I will be working on health education toolkit to ensure that members of these communities are knowledgeable about health practices.

Traveling to Cambodia will be an an extremely incredible yet expensive adventure! Thus, any possible donations would be greatly appreciated!!!
