S.A.M.E. Care Team Medical Mission Trip

The S.A.M.E. Care team is comprised of medical, dental and graduate students from Meharry Medical College who will visit Worcester, South Africa for a medical and dental trip. The team's name serves as an acronym for the South Africa Medical Externship, and connotes our goal of providing the citizens of our destination with access to some of the same healthcare that we are afforded here in America. This externship will be our first step toward forging an indelible relationship between Meharry Medical College and South Africa.

We are currently slated to set up our clinic in Worcester, which is located near Cape Town, South Africa. Our goal is to address some of the public health issues that are devastating South Africa, including HIV and sexually transmitted infections while providing access to dental and medical care free of charge to the residents of rural Worcester.
