Fight Cancer_Mayo Clinic is Costly

My name is Rebecca and I am a colon cancer survivor.  In 2011, symptoms began and the doctors removed my gallbladder thinking that was the problem. There was a complication and I was in the hospital 19 days with a paralytic ileus which means my upper bowel shut down. While I have good insurance, the medical bills pile up every year with all the follow-up and with a $3000.00 deductible.  In 2012, the cancer was detected because of a routine colonoscopy. It was removed in a procedure called a right hemicolectomy. It was stage 3 --in 3 lymph nodes. In 2013, the hemicolectomy developed a hernia. The surgeon went in and also had to perform a bowel reconstruction. This has been costly, depleting any savings I have each year.

My situation now is that the Carcinoembryonic Antigen (CEA) is exponentially high and has been increasing over the past several months going from 25 to 92 as of 3.28.2016. The oncologist, internists, and other doctors in the Des Moines have done a battery of tests: endoscopy, colonoscopy, biopsies of the tongue and tonsil etc and they have not discovered why the CEA is up. So, the doctors have referred me to Mayo Clinic for diagnosis and treatment. This is very costly, especially travel,  hotels, and incidentals. The costs are mounting up and I would appreciate any help you might be so gracious and generous to provide.

As a person whose life is about helping others,  I have found that most people get in financial trouble when they ask for help too late. I am a hard working person, but single with no kids--so hard to do this alone. I would be grateful to God and to anyone who assists me. It is hard to ask, but I am giving it a try.
