Help Monet Garden Grow & Flourish

The Monet Garden of Muskegon has enriched lakeshore residents and visitors for over 18 years. All of the garden plantings and structures are meant to provide a miniature version of the real Monet Garden in France. When visitors enter through the pathways, they see beautiful flowers, blue arches, and a pond with a picturesque blue bridge, reminiscent of Monet's famous painting. Our garden has been featured in magazines and was mentioned in the Muskegon Chronicle as one of the Marvels of Muskegon. School groups, painters, photographers, festival visitors, lakeshore residents, and those seeking serenity are just a few of the people who regularly visit the garden. We frequently hear the phrase, "I love this garden!" A recent visitor who had actually gone to the real Monet in France said that our garden got it right with how we created the miniature version.
Although the garden continues to be a lovely spot to visit, it is showing its age and it definitely needs an update and renovation. Our group, the Lakeshore Garden Masters,www.lakeshoregardenmasters.org has lovingly cared for the garden and now are asking the public to help make several needed renovations and replace our stone walkway with cement to make it more accessible to the handicapped. The cost of upgrading from stone to cement was estimated to be at least $15,000 and we have several other renovations to make. We would like to be able to do that by the year 2020 so we have named our campaign 20 for 20, meaning $20,000 by the year 2020. Our group is doing what we can with what we have, but we need your help.
The Monet Garden exists only due to donations and volunteer help. We do have a fund at the Community Foundation of Muskegon County - http://muskegonfoundation.org/give/give-now/ into which donations can be made, but that fund helps us with our yearly garden costs, and is not enough to pay for the renovations that need to be done. That is why we are asking the "Go Fund Me Public" to help.
