Help Orion’s Mommy During Recovery

My son Orion was born July 26th, 2018 with a heart defect by the name of Tetralogy of Fallot, a condition that affects about 1 in every 2,000 babies. Directly after birth, he was transported to Nationwide Children’s Hospital, while I recovered from a c-section at St. Ann’s. It was then his heart condition was confirmed, as was a suspected lung lesion - both needing surgery (possibly several) in his first year. Doctors sent us home earlier than expected, with two goals - put on some weight, and keep him healthy and virus-free. 3 weeks following my c-section, I went back to work. While it has not been the easiest, I have truly gotten by with the help of family and friends. Orion has grown into a little chunker, and we have had only a few scares concerning his health. September 25th, he is scheduled for his first heart surgery, where he will be a candidate for a full repair (possibly not needing another heart surgery for 15-20 years). After a successful repair on his heart, his doctors plan on having him back in to remove the lesion from his lung. As his mother, I am understandably anxious and ready to put my baby on the road to a healthier life. Even though this is a scary time for us, faith is strong. I plan on taking time off work once he has his surgery on the 25th, to stay at the hospital for his stay, and home with him as he recovers. Unfortunately, I have been letting my mind wander to other stressful factors - many of them financial. I have an extremely hard time asking for help when I need it the most, but this is definitely that time. This money will go towards maintaining my household and allowing me to take the time needed off of work to be there for my son. All I ever want to be is the best mom I can to him and his sister, Sienna. So many thank you’s to any contribution, prayer, or words of encouragement sent our way. We are beyond blessed.
