The Horns and Heroes Project No.2

MISSION: The Horns and Heroes Project was created to help ensure the survival of all rhinos. Involving the efforts of the visionary talents of local and international artists, we will aid those involved in securing the future of the species. Fostering a community supported event, we will advocate awareness, raise funds and assist in conservation efforts while motivating others to join the fight.

An art show and auction to benefit the INTERNATIONAL RHINO FOUNDATION and the survival of rhinos throughout the world.

THE EVENT: The HORNS and HEROES PROJECT not only celebrates World Rhino Day, but also brings awareness and education about rhinos and the threat they face. All but one species of rhino is on the verge of extinction. Without immediate and drastic action, some rhinos could be extinct within the next 10-20 years.

We hope we can help by bringing art and conservation together. In doing so, we will sculpt a piece of art symbolizing a rhino, cast it and put one in the creative hands of some of the most talented painters, sculptors, graffiti artists, graphic designers, illustrators, comic book artists, photographers, and special effects artists the world has to offer.

Each of the 75 or so artists will be asked to recreate the sculpture in their own style and creative vision. You'll be able to view the works of art from top local and international artists at one of Orlando, Florida's best venues.

The sculptures will be on display for one night only and you will be able to bid during a silent and live auction. All proceeds from the auction of these unique sculptures will benefit the INTERNATIONAL RHINO FOUNDATION and other rhino conservation organizations.

The Horns and Heroes Project is a very small registered not-for profit organization run by a minimal number of dedicated volunteers.  None of the Horns and Heroes team is paid for their work.  To be able to plan, create, and organize events and also manufacture the sculptures needed for present and future shows we need donations to purchase the costly materials for molding and casting. We are also eager to expand our cause to those around the world by marketing and advertising the event. We are also working on becoming a 501(c)3.  A portion of your donation will go to upcoming events & promotions and the other to rhino conservation organizations, such as the International Rhino Foundation.

Our 2012 show raised over $6,000 to help fight the war against rhino poaching, showcased the talents of many amazing artists and supported local businesses in our community.

Our next show will be September 18th 2014 at The Abbey in Downtown Orlando, Florida.
