Islamic Center of UConn Restoration Fund
Donation protected
The Messenger of Allah (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam) said: "Whoever builds a Masjid for the sake of Allah, Allah will build a house for him in Paradise" [Sahih Muslim].
Uthman bin Affan (radi Allahu anhu) wanted to rebuild Al-Masjid-al-Nabawi but people disliked it. So he told them this hadith that he had heard from the Messenger of Allah (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam) and went on to enlarge, extend, and embellish the Prophet's masjid in Medina and the Kaaba as well. Building a Masjid where there isn't one, repairing one that has fallen into disrepair, or helping to maintain one are all deeds worthy of Allah's pleasure and the highest rewards.
The Islamic Center of the University of Connecticut (ICUC) is New England's one and only mosque located on a university campus. It is, however, in need of your financial support to repair its roof, ceiling, flooring, and windows. The members of the ICUC are working together to raise funds for a student-led alternative spring break restoration project for March 2014 and need your help. InshaAllah, together we can restore the state of the ICUC.
As mentioned by the Prophet Muhammad in an authentic hadith, donating money to build a masjid for the sake of Allah is Sadaqa-Jariya (continued chairty), meaning that the charity will continue to reach the donor even after death.
May Allah accept our intentions and reward our efforts.
JazakaAllahu Khair
