AMiGOs SF to WV Cycling Tour for Farmworkers

Tax deductible
While many of us are fortunate to be sheltering in place during this pandemic, farmworkers are putting themselves at risk daily in order to provide food for the rest of us. We simply cannot do without our agricultural heroes, yet they are disproportionately overlooked and underpaid. For this reason, AMiGOs has partnered with The Watsonville Campesino Appreciation Caravan (WCAC).

WCAC has established an appreciation caravan whose purpose is to show gratitude by driving to various agriculture land in the Watsonville area and delivering messages of appreciation, personal protective equipment, bottled water, covid safety resources, partnered with other community programs/businesses, provided lunch, school supplies and household products.

Alliance Mi Gente Outdoors (AMiGOS) is a group of like-minded individuals who try to partner with organizations or projects that share similar values and beliefs to ours. Through the worldwide outdoors community, we intend to increase awareness and raise funds to further support organizations committed in the continued fight to serve and aid the underserved Latinx community.

For this upcoming season, AMiGOs has decided to collaborate with the WCAC by establishing a small bike ride from San Francisco to Watsonville and raise funds/awareness for the Farm Workers Project spearheaded by WCAC. The 100 mile bike ride will take place on Oct 3, 2020 beginning in San Francisco, CA at 5am and making our way 100 plus miles South to Watsonville. We ask that you support us by contributing a small donation to the Farm Workers Project. All funds raised will be managed by the Action Council of Monterey County who is the assigned beneficiary of our go fund me and fiscal sponsor for WCAC. Your donations will go towards but not limited to buying care packages for farmworkers, which in the past have included cleaning products the farmworkers have identified as necessary to keep themselves safe during the pandemic. The money will also be used to treat the workers to lunches, deliver essential information due to current events, school supplies for their children, and other resources that they may need. Any donation amount is valued and appreciated.
